We'd like to sincerely thank our customers for all their support & encouragment over the years, & for recent expressions of concern for our well being, yes we are fine thanks

Running Freewheelin for 19 years was a unique & unforgettable experience, dominated by an amazing & diverse range of good people we feel privileged to have come to know.

Sure there were some assholes as well, but we never gave much head space to them then, certainly aren't going to do so now

The support we received in the last year from thousands upon thousands of you was truly amazing & humbling, not to mention the blitz that was the last day, with thousands of you from all over the state coming through in just a 14 hour period, it was a truly incredible event we're still coming to terms with today.

We apologise to those of you that were waiting for us to re-open after renovating, by the end of our ban-induced holiday we found ourselves having second thoughts about it.

Other than the fact we had lost a lot of incentive, we'd had our first taste of non-retailer life in 19 years, & it was pretty sweet.

During all this we were also experiencing continuing success & growth in our online interests of web development & management, to the point it was consuming a lot of our time, & also providing a sufficient income.

So we decided it was time to move on with a new life & leave the Freewheelin, as you knew it, behind, Freewheelin as a business does continue in a different form, but we will never retail again, sorry to disappoint.

& yes, as we slip quietly & with pleasure into the privacy & anonymity of a "normal" life, & even though we have absolutely nothing whatsoever to gain from it, we will still tell you that the Volcano is the best damn implement in the world & you should do yourself a favour & buy one
